Color sensor not working

My Codey color sensor is not working. Under all conditions of full light, dark room, various color samples, etc.
color sensor ambient light intensity = 100 always
color sensor reflected light intensity = 0 always
color sensor grey-scale value = 80 always

The infrared sensor is working. The LED that supplies the 3 color light seems to work OK. Seems the problem is in the detection of light.

This Codey/Rocky unit is relatively new. I purchased it in March or April of 2020 and just now got around to checking out the color sensors.
