On my desktop version 5.4.3 the block choices presented to the left of the workspace will not retract out of the way when you clicked in the workspace area. It does retract on the IDE version which is very helpful. Is it just due to some setting I have on my windows 10 laptop or is this a working as designed aspect of the desktop version of mblock.
[CLOSED] Desktop version differs from IDE version of mBlock
@Hugh mBlock is what’s called a PWA. As far as I know, the Windows app uses something similar to electron with a backend for board stuff, which basically means that the mBlock app is the online IDE but with offline support.
Since it would be tedious to update the mBlock app to test every new feature, new features are tested online (https://ide.mblock.cc and https://ide-chrome.mblock.cc) and the mBlock app is periodically updated to match the online version.
I’m not sure when the next version of mBlock PC will be released, but this isn’t a bug (though it can be a bit annoying) or anything to be worried about.
You can always create a makeblock account and sync your projects between the PC and online IDE versions, then it’s easy to go back and forth if you want to.
