Circuit diagram and photo disagree for Ports 7 and 8

I’m followng the instructions on instructables.

On the “circuit diagram” adapter 3 (limit switches 3 and 4) goes to baseport 7
In the photo adapter 3 goes to baseport 8
Which is correct?

But this is a third different diagram. Because the new diagram does not use Port 8. Is that correct?

(So neither the photo nor the circuit diagram is correct on the instructables site?)

Where did the new diagram come from?
