I want to use the DC motor gripper for something involving perfect control of the gripper. I was hoping to change the DC motor to a servo somehow. I was wondering if it would be possible to use a servo so that I can control the gripper using a potentiometer. Is it possible to adapt the thread on the inside to fit a Hi-Tec servo?

Hi blackholebh,
Do you have this Gripper with CNC motor?
If yes, I may not suggest that change the CNC motor to servo. From the gripper, you can see it opens/closes following the changing of the spring, the spring changes according to the rotating of the motor shaft.
While according to the spec of your servo, its running degree is 180°, so that it may only be able to changing the spring in limited range which leading to close/open the gripper a little.
