Cannot compile on Chromebook

#1

Hi, I have a problem about mBot and Chromebook. I try to compile and upload to mBot after I connect the mBot and Chromebook by the USB cable. The compiling starts but continues without stopping and never show any messages. I am wondering how to deal with this kind of problem and complete the compiling, thanks.

Hi g910414,
Are you using mBlock 3 ChromeOS version? And open arduino in mBlock? Will you please show us the error page?
Open arduino IDE, go to examples>Makeblockdrive, you may refer to some example programs.
Any details will be appreciated.

Hi, sorry for the late reply. I use mBlock 3 and compile my test program today, and get a different problem like this image. It shows “Can’t connect to x11 window server using ’ :0.0’ as the value of the display variable.” I try to compile again, but it still returns error. However, I try to compile my program in Windows and it successfully works.

Hi g910414,
To further the issue, let’s confirm more information.
What is the exact version of your mBlock? 3.1.x?
You’ve downloaded the software or used the web version on Chromebook?
Windows which tested program also mBlock 3? 3.4.11?
Also, can we have the whole screen shot of the mBlock interface when it failed at compiling?
By the way, it works ok on chromebook if you run the program online?
Thanks~

Hi,
My mBlock version is 3.4.11 in Windows, and the download version is Chromebook.
I also try online version in Chromebook, but still get a same error like the image. Thanks.

Sorry, I’ve just confirmed that the compiling server of Chromebook version got something wrong recently and we are trying to fix it. And we’ll let you know when we fix it. Thanks for the understanding.
