Can servo rotate all the way around?

Hi there,

I’m 5 years old, I have an mBot and I love it.

My dad and I have a question about the servo pack: we are able to get it to move from side to side, but we are not sure, can it go all the way around and around like a motor? We would like to use it to spin a small fan. Whenever we try, it just goes back and forth. Can you please help us?

This is the way hobby servos work, they are more correctly called actuators. Most are designed to rotate 180 degrees and you can also buy some that are designed to rotate 270 degrees.

To spin a fan it will be much better to use a motor.
