I was looking for a vinyl cutter, for stencils and car window stickers. Stumbled across this for about the same price, but seems like it could be more versatile. Can it be used to cut vinyls? I’m thinking just swap a swivel head xacto in place of the normal pen. Any reason why that wouldn’t work?

I think this is posible, just need to modify a blade holder like the one used in cheap vinyl cutter in china the DC330. Maybe need to add a solenoid to move the blade holder up and down.
+1 on this. It seems like it would be fairly easy for Makeblock to sell an add-on head that could take a standard cutter blade like those used on consumer cutters (Cameo, Circuit, Brother), or an open source one that can take standard blades.
