Buying 2 mBots. Bluetooth or 2.4GHz

#1

I plan to buy each of my two kids an mBot but am unclear on which version will work best for our situation.

They share an iMac so each of them may use that for coding. However, either one of them may sometimes also use my macbook so they can both be working at the same time.

Would one version or the other work in this way, jumping back and forth between different Macs at different times? Is there any danger of the two mBots getting mixed up in the wrieless connections? Would we be better off keeping each mBot tied to one particular computer?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

One of the issues with the Bluetooth versions is that the mBots are not locked to a particular system. Each bot will pair up with the first available system from my experience. When I teach a class (~10-15 students) I prefer the 2.4GHz WiFi because the dongles seem to be smart enough to connect consistently and correctly. From a conversation I had with @tec_support a couple of years ago, this is by design.

Thanks. It sounds like I should go with WiFi and move the dongles between computers if needed.
