Bluetooth menu on mBlock 3.2.1 is disabled

Why the Bluetooth menu on mBlock 3.2.1 is disabled? I do have the bluetooth adapter installed properly. From windows’s bluetooth “Show bluetooth devices”, I can see MakeBlock device.

But I can not connect to the device since the menu Bluetooth is disabled on mBlock.

Anyone can help.

Did you try pairing your computer with the robot directly? On windows, you click the bluetooth icon in the system tray. Not sure on a mac.

I had a lot of problems connecting to the mBot over Bluetooth when I was using the drivers (CSR Harmony) that came with my USB Bluetooth dongle. With lots of futzing and fidgeting (eg. you need to run mBlock as Administrator to get the Install Arduino Drivers function to actually do anything) I got it to connect one time, but then the next day it stopped working again. Anyway, after a lot of banging my head into a wall I think I have a fix. I uninstalled the CSR Harmony driver and let Windows install the default Microsoft Bluetooth stack. After choosing Install Arduino Driver again in mBlock now the Bluetooth menu shows up and actually connects the first time!! Woohoo!!

If I tried to paired the computer with the robot directly as you said, I got error “Adding this device failed because of an authentication error. This might be due to use of an incorrect pairing code.”

Weird. I did find that restarting the mbot and the mblock software between attempts sometimes was the magic sauce. It seems like a failed attempt at connecting puts the mblock software into a goofy state.
