Bluetooth connecting to Android tablet unreliable

#1

Hi,

I’ve got an mBot Ranger (bluetooth version), and am seeing issues with connecting via Bluetooth to the mBlock app v0.8.5-DE running on an Android tablet.

It often takes several attempts to connect, and sometimes just won’t connect at all. On the other hand connecting to the Makeblock app running on the same table works a bit more reliably, only need to retry occasionally. To be clear once the connection is made, it seems stable. It’s just connection creation that seems to have issues.

The tablet is a Pixel C, Android 8.1.0

Any ideas how I could improve the situation? I’m especially puzzled by the apparent difference between the mBlock and the Makeblock apps, with the former having so many more issues with Bluetooth.

Thanks,
peter.

Postscriptum – not sure if relevant but just in case: mBot Ranger is powered by 6x NiMH batteries

Hi
Maybe try again to upload the firmware on the mbot ranger
