Big variations in mBot prices, what's the reason for the cost difference?

Hi, I’m keen to get started with my first mBot, but have spotted that they are available for about £72 AND about £172! I’ve spent a fair bit of time trying to work out the difference. Thought it might have been the mCore, but apparently not. Can anyone explain why there is such a price difference? I neither want to buy something that is half the job, nor waste £100… I’d post links here to a couple of examples, but I don’t want to advertise anything :wink:

Not sure why the big price difference. I’ve seen the WiFi version range from $79.99 USD to $119.99 USD for the same kit. Not sure if it has to do with volume discounts or something else. Ordering direct from Makeblock seems to offer a consistent price, although I picked up several at a discount from monoprice.com.

I would first check if the company selling online is their distributors? If not it might be becuase they buy from other distributors and so on and everyone adds their price!!

Also, you might find the custom/import duty & shipping cost to your country might be to high!
