I have the drivers installed and arduino, the pc recognizes that it is attached, I am but unable to “see” it. I am trying to get it to see the the different components as the ultrasonic sensor is not working.

Hi blake, what do you mean by “seeing” it? If you install usb driver successfully, you are able to see at least two ports in Arduino when you connect Orion board with PC.
In this case, port: COM 3 means Orion is connected with PC via USB. You might get COM 4, COM 5. One thing for sure, you should get at least two ports if everything goes well.
