Beam0808 Quality Control

#1

I’ve noticed some problems with hole placement and drill angle on the Beam0808 parts. In general the paired holes don’t line up perfectly with each other and the problem seems to get worse on longer beams.

If I insert a long shaft thru the pair of holes on one end, and do the same with another shaft at the other end of the beam - it is pretty obvious that tolerances are a bit too sloppy, due to the angles shown by the shafts.

I’ve noticed the same issue with some of the beams, especially the older ones (from the old extension kit). I think these problems are solved now that production is up (I recognize the older beams because they are also different in color).

See for instance this picture of old and new (top five) little 3x6 plates. Clearly quality improved a lot!

That does look great. However I’m talking about beams shipped to Kickstarter supporters - so fairly recent.
