Alternative ways to communicate to the xy-plotter

I am wanting to communicate to the XY-plotter without having to use Gcode over USB or the android app. I would like to send UART commands directly to the board in order to have the plotter do repeated motions. Is someone able to assist me in this project? The bluetooth module lists that it communicates over UART, but I do not know what what signals cause the XY-plotter to do which movements.
