Hello, has anyone had luck using the 180 optical Encoder with a horn? I bought it separately from Amazon and it doesn’t come with a horn or any way to attach to other makeblock parts. I have emailed support but wondering how other people are using this product. This particular encoder connection is too big to use with the horns or connectors in the ultimate package 2.0.

According to your description, this belong to personal DIY application, I am afraid there is no exist instruction for personal project.
The mBot Ranger robot use the 180 encoder moter, you may refer toits building instruction to get some idea about how to use the 180 encoder motor.
