Hi
I just want to know what’s the difference between the orion board vs the one that comes with the mbot kit.
I think no one from makeblock response anything in this forum.
from picture it seem to be Orion board is a bit more interface than mBot.
mBot is good but it quite proprietary, and it seem to be it does not Arduino standard, I asked them about how I can get other bluetooth from Arduino standard interface, they cannot tell me.
@csuarez, they have much big difference, you can see from the interface. mBot is somehow more simple with less ports. Whats more, they run different firmware.
@DinoP, thanks for your reply. There should be some misunderstandig, we do response for forum, but sometimes, we are too busy to login everyday, so some comments may not be dealt on time, we are really sorry for that. However, as I said, if anything urgent, you can send email to us: support@makeblock.cc, thanks!
I think one of the problems is that nobody has any idea who is a makeblock employee on this forum. Can you guys change your identity in a way that lets us know which of you are from makeblock. I am fairly sure preterlee is one of you and I just now have to assume that Pioneer is also, but I am still not certain.
@danjger, we are both the guys from Makeblock, but Peter is mainly in charge of Marketing, and I (Pioneer) am mainly in charge of the technical issues, so if you have any questions, you can send email to our support email, thanks!
The mCore board has many significant differences in terms of layout and port availability. Most significant is that mCore has 3.5-7v DC in, while the MeOrion board can take up to 12v DC in. This is significant because the mCore’s two-port motor controller can only support smaller DC motors, while the MeOrion can run larger motors and servos through the M1/M2 ports, or through the red-labeled RJ25 ports.
