I was shipped the plotter but have discovered that the power supply has the incorrect plug, it has two FLAT prods instead of round ones, which are what is used here in Italy.
The power supply body says 12V 3A output, but the Arduino supplied has a 6V to 12V input (according to the PCB).
Is the 12V dc neccessary or would a lower voltage do (given the same amps and a voltage of 6V or more)?
The steppers need 12 Volts through the on-board socket, as does the Laser or anything else you connect to the lower two motor ports. The USB connection will power the servo, but not motors.
I also had a PSU supplied with 2 flat pins, but as it is an auto-sensing type of switch mode PSU works fine for me when plugged into a shaving adaptor which converts the UK 3-pin plug to 2-pin (round or flat).
