How to continue to use the Starter robot kit with Me-BaseBoard V1.1

#1

Hi there,

I bought the starter Robot Kit V2.0 a few years ago (june 2014), with a Me-BaseBoard V1.1 and now after lot of fun and a moment in the box I would again play with it, but… You only offer firmware or example (in the arduino IDE) for the MeOrion… Nothing for the Me-BaseBoard… When I try to download to my board the starter robot example (with IR or with Bluetooth) nothing happen.
When I download the DC motor test it works only if a modify the header replacing me-orion.h by Me-BaseBoard.h in the include, but it doesn’t works if I do the same thing in the starter robot example.
Furthermore, in the next Mblock app (3.3.2) , the Me-BaseBoard card has disappeared… It’s only possible to program for the Me-orion.

Maybe I miss something, but what can I do to continue to use my robot ?

Thanks a lot for your help

It looks like the Me-Baseboard has been discontinued as a product. I’m looking at the library source code and the header for the Me-Baseboard is still there although the last git log update was in November 2015. I suspect that Makeblock has chosen to not do further development for a product that has been discontinued.

I would suggest that you direct your question to @tec_support for a definitive answer though.

Hi Xawaks,

Chuck is correct, the Me-Baseboard has been discontinued for a long time.
You need use the old Makeblock library. As for mBlock, it has moved the me baseboard from mBlock 3.3.1, then you can use the mBlock with older version like mBlock 3.2.2 for the baseboard.

Hi, thank you both for your answers.

Too bad for me…

But where can I find the old Makeblock libraries and an old version of Mblock ? because when I go to the Github, I can’t find archive or things like that…

Thanks for your help

Try this link - https://github.com/Makeblock-official/Makeblock-Help-App-For-Scratch-Offline
It’s and older version and hopefully you’ll find it useful.

Hi Xawaks,

You can download the mBlock 3.2.2 in this link: https://transfer.pcloud.com/download.html?code=5ZrOCjZU4V6wrs6dspZMkr0ZrCezUDSIDvpIW8QhbW7y3yoKeyty

After you installed the mBlock, you can find the makeblock library under its installation path:

Thanks… but… I’m on MAC

On the Mac, you’d look in:

/Applications/mBlock_v3.3.2.app/Contents/Resources/Arduino/Arduino.app/Contents/Java/libraries/makeblock

Thank you…

And can you give me a link to download the default program in the IDE Arduino of the starter robot kit, with the IR mode and the obstacle avoidance ? so with the Mblock old version and this file I can continue to have fun ! Thanks a lot

Hi Xawaks,

After you installed the mBlock 3.2.2, you can find the default program in the IDE Arduino of the starter robot kit under path which Chuck has mentioned: /Applications/mBlock_v3.3.2.app/Contents/Resources/Arduino/Arduino.app/Contents/Java/libraries/makeblock

Hi all,

I’m having the same issue and I see that the links mentioned above have expired.

I went here to get mBlock 3.2.2 for Mac: http://en.freedownloadmanager.org/Mac-OS/mBlock-FREE.html

However, I’m not able to find the Windows version I need. May someone please share mBlock 3.2.2 for Windows with me please?

Thanks!
