Arduino-based mBot Programming book question

#1

Hi All,

I’m within about a month of finishing the first few chapters of the second volume of “A Gentle Introduction to Robotics” which is focused exclusively on writing programs for the mBot using the Arduino IDE. I’m wondering if anyone would be interested in my starting a beta book offering where you’d get the chapters as they are updated and published. Pricing for the book will be the same as for the first volume ($17.50-$20.00) on Leanpub.

The current table of contents looks like this:

Part 1 - Getting Started

  • The Arduino Project
  • Setting up the Arduino Development Environment
  • Installing the Makeblock libraries
  • Programming Conventions
  • Our First Program

Part 2 - Sensors & Motors

  • LEDs
  • Push Button
  • Buzzer
  • Light Sensor
  • IR Remote Control
  • IR Transmit / Receive
  • Line Follower Sensor
  • Ultrasonic Sensor
  • Motors

Part 3 - Projects

  • Obstacle-Avoiding Line Follower
  • SumoBot
  • Maze Solver
  • Maze Solver II
  • Soccer Bot
  • IR Laser Tag Bot

Appendices

  • A - mCore/Arduino Hardware Specification
  • B - Makeblock Library Reference
  • C - Glossary
  • D - Online Resources
  • E - C/C++ Syntax
  • F - Numbering Systems
  • G - Note Pitches
  • H Device Pinouts

The appendices are subject to reordering, but that’s the current working order.

Thanks in advance for any input.

Regards,

Chuck

Chuck,

I’d be quite interested in a beta version. I’ve been looking to branch out toward using the Arduino IDE side of things, and if your last book is any indication, this will be a great resource, Please let me know!

Thanks
Marcus
