I can not upload to mbot

I can write the scratch space, but when I go to upload to Arduino (connected via USB from Mac to mBot), it reads upload failed. ANy thoughts?

What version of OS X?
Have you installed the correct USB driver?

El Capitan.
I have not downloaded any drivers. I wasn’t aware that I needed to.
