Me Gyro - Piece of junk

I got a Me Gyro. My first impression is i have been ripped off. I am a programmer by trade and it took me an hour and a lot of blog post reading to get a return value out of it.

Now that it is returning data i question the validity f what it is telling me. I need the Z axis for steering. Even with the bot not moving at all. The value of the z axis is constantly changing. With a read every 500 milliseconds it goe, 37, 41, 43, 47, 50, 52, 54, 57, 61 etc. constantly growing by 2-3 every read. When i try to read all three axis it returns the same value for all of them. How do i make this piece of junk work in a somewhat reliable way?

Please check the gyro is well powered and initialise it when bot is not moving … anyway there is a natural deviation due to poor quality of component …
