We just start with mbot. We have some experience with scratch. Im losing my mind, do I need the mbot extension and if i do, where do I find it?

thank you

Download the mBLock software from here:
http://www.mblock.cc/download/
The mBot extension is built into it.

Hi I’ve tried using the scratch to program the mbot with my son, and although the led blinks when I send upload the program, the dc motor will not operate. I’ve programmed arduinos and the code example on the makeblock page using the arduino compiler doesn’t give what libraries to include it just has #include twice.
A bit more information from makeblock would be great. I love the build quality of the mbot and gripper arm, but the programming side is thin to nonexistent. Thanks Mark

I wrote some notes that might help:

Unfortunately, after checking mBot under Boards I cannot find mBot extension. When I try to add the extension through “Manage Extensions”, I’m asked for a path for .json file. I’m using v3.2.2. mBlock software. Some further instruction would be appreciated.

same here, who can help ?

I dont get the shitty software to work with the robot… and no linux support after all…

#7

Same problem here, MBot doesn’t appear in extensions list, asking me for a path. Can someone help?

Hi Goumimag,

Which version mBlock do you use? Maybe you can try the latest version mBlock 3.3.2 which can be download in this link:
http://www.mblock.cc/download

I am using the latest one 3.3.5 and there is still no mBot in Extensions menu… ???
I noticed tech support here being super slow so I hope I’ll find an answer somewhere else,… if any suggestions on the active forum support for an mBot, please let me know (my son is excited, waiting for mBot to start working properly).

Cheers,

Tihomir

Hi Tcirkven,

I have tested the latest version v3.3.6 and there is mBot under Extension->Manage Extensions.
Could you please take a picture for the option list under the Extension->Manage Extensions. Like below picture:

Besides, when you program for mBot, Upgrade Firmware or reset default program for mBot, you just need to choose Makeblock under Extension and choose mBot under Boards. Do you have any issue to upload program for the mBot?
Here is a link provide more info for mBot: http://learn.makeblock.com/en/mbot/
