Adding IR to Starter Robot Kit Bluetooth Version

We purchased a Starter Robot Kit Bluetooth Version only. Prior to this we purchased an mbot bluetooth version with included IR remote, that one worked perfect. However with the Starter Robot Kit I didn’t realized that it didn’t include an IR remote control. The board has no provisions for an IR receiver.

It would be simpler for my kids to work with an IR capable robot, not tablet or smartphone app. Is there an IR module that can be added to the current Orion board and use an IR remote and still have the ability to code it through the Makerblock software? Thanks

Hi Deboize,

As David suggested, you can buy the me infrared receiver decode for your starter. Then you can control it with the IR controller coming from the mBot.
